Kanamoto Corporation (hereafter Kanamoto) has established sales offices throughout Japan (Locations) to propose and provide various types of construction and heavy equipment rentals to meet the needs of its customers. With a strong sense of mission to support social infrastructure such as civil engineering and construction, Kanamoto provides services that respond to all the voices coming from the construction site.

　

■ ACT-ONE How did you come to work with Yamachi?

A user asks us to find a camera with a communication function that is the same as one he saw at a certain job site, because he wants to use it at his company. The user asked us to find a camera with the same communication function as the one he had seen at a certain site. The person in charge at Kanamoto saw the PR material of ACT-ONE Yamamoto's remote presence system and decided to inquire about it.

The selection of which remote presence system to use went smoothly, as we had accurately interviewed the user about their requirements. Two business days after our inquiry, the user was able to place an official order.

　

Users' Reasons for Considering Remote Presence System Introduction

This user is a construction company that specializes in specific equipment work within the road infrastructure.

There are more than 10,000 roads nationwide that are subject to construction, and each construction environment is complex and no two are alike. The user has developed a unique surveying method that can respond to a wide variety of situations. Our advanced technological capabilities have earned us the trust of many road operators, and we boast one of the highest numbers of achievements in this field in Japan.

One of the sources of support for this technology is "surveying" using surveying techniques.
This work must be based on solid experience, and until now has been carried out by veteran employees. Today, as construction work proceeds simultaneously at sites across the country, more and more veteran employees are traveling around the country to conduct surveys.

The user viewed the reduction of the burden on veteran employees by dividing and distributing work and the training of the next generation of engineers by passing on technology as mid- to long-term management issues, and sought the introduction of DX tools as a way to resolve these issues.

　

■Effects of Remote Presence System

The remote support solution utilizing the remote presence system is expected to have the following two main effects.

• Improved work efficiency for veteran employees by allowing them to participate in nationwide survey work while still in the office
• Field survey work can be performed by young and mid-career employees with remote guidance from veteran employees
