Reduce waiting times! Digitalization of reception operations to solve the 2024 problem

ACT-ONE Yamaichi is facing an issue of waiting time for loading and unloading trucks at the equipment center. We have been introducing the queue reception system [Air Wait] since April 2024. If you rent equipment from us, you can make a reservation online in advance when you visit! You can make effective use of your waiting time! You can now experience various benefits. In this article, we will introduce in detail the effects of using Air Wait and the background to its introduction.

What is Air Weight?

This is a waiting reception system provided by Recruit Co., Ltd. that efficiently manages customer waiting times.

This system is used in stores, facilities, and service industries, allowing customers to reserve their place in line in advance and check the waiting situation in real time.

What prompted the introduction?

Previously, truck loading and unloading queue management was done using analog methods such as paper and telephone, but this made it difficult to accurately grasp waiting times and manage them efficiently, making the work complicated and placing a heavy burden on reception staff.

In addition, there were many complaints from drivers that they could not check their turn in real time. Therefore, in order to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, we decided to consider digitizing the reception process.

As we continued our consideration, the 2024 problem became recognized as a social issue, which became the deciding factor to introduce the system.

What are the effects of the shift to digital?

After the introduction of Air Wait, queue management was changed from paper to entirely system-managed.

Telephone calls, which used to be done manually, can now be made automatically from the system. Truck drivers can reserve their turn and check the waiting situation from their smartphone before arriving at the yard, so they can make effective use of their waiting time.

Towards solving the 2024 problem

The introduction of Air Wait has eliminated the traditional paper-based reception and long waiting times, and has succeeded in significantly reducing truck waiting times, which is considered a major issue in the 2024 problem.

In addition, by reducing the time trucks spend idling, this has contributed to improving the local air quality and marked an important step towards realizing a sustainable society.

Currently, the system has been introduced at three Locations: Taisho Equipment Center, Hirakata Equipment Center, and Toda Equipment Center, but there are plans to roll it out nationwide in the future.

The benefits of digitizing reception operations in this way have been significant, and by improving the efficiency of our own operations, we have also led to improved efficiency for our business partners and shipping companies.
